Jauz and Netsky are two completely different artists and you would not expect a collaboration from these two types of producers easily. Yet, they did the unthinkable by dropping an insane Bass House track entitled “Higher”. The track is released today, the 25th of March, on Ultra Music!
About two months ago we discovered the first footage of this amazing track, which already sounded promising. Jauz has been playing it in his liveshows for a while but we did not know the track was a collaboration with the amazing Belgium act Netsky. I’ve seen Netsky performing live two years ago and it was truly amazing. However, this release is something they would not play live I’m afraid. I’m really hoping I am wrong, but I just don’t see Bass House being played on launchpads, keyboards and drums in a live set.
Higher is easily becoming one of my favourite tracks by the Belgian producer. It’s no wonder that this track will be added to their upcoming album “3” which will release later this year.
What makes “Higher” so great?
“Higher” starts of with an emotional piano intro which sets you in the mood of something epic. On top of the piano there is a perfect fitting vocal which slowly builts into groovy percussions and typical House synths. In my opinion the builtup is a clean masterpiece where the listener is being introduced to something epic. I’m in love with the main synth and the simplicity of the drop as well. It still got the Bass House vibe, but this release takes the genre to another level. The track just has everything to become a great succes in the bass house scene.
Bass House
Usually with Bass House you can hear all those messy Dubstep sounds, which in most case scenarios just sound awful. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big Bass House lover and I’ve listened to a lot of Dubstep in the past as well, but some artists make drops sound way to big when simplicity is needed. For me “Higher” by Jauz x Netsky is the perfect example of Bass House done right. They have added creativity and emotion in the track without ruining the recognizable but dirty Bass House vibe from the LA producer Jauz.
