Satanic vibes kicked in while tuning into Oliver Heldens’ Heldeep Radio a month ago. The Future House role model was the first to announce Curbi his new track “Triple Six” in his 101st episode. Now, on the 6th of July (6/6/2016) the DJ/producer from Halstead, England finally shows us the full track on the label Musical Freedom. There has been a lot of hype and speculation around this release and we are very curious if “Triple Six” can live up to the hype!
Curbi’s little adventure
“Triple Six” starts off with a mysterious built-up that feels like you are exploring a dark and sinister cave. The detail Curbi put into this is really cool. You hear drops of water dripping on the cave floor all around you while the music gets more energetic every second. While you wander further and deeper into the cave you face the most evil creature you have ever seen. You decide to attack the monster. This is where all hell breaks loose…
This little adventure I just made up may sound a bit far-fetched, but it is very clear to me that Curbi is trying to tell the listener a short story. “Triple Six” has a very sinister vibe and with little details like the water drops it almost manages to create a full on boss-fight experience.
The drop is like you expect from Curbi. It’s dirty, it’s fat and it bangs incredibly hard! It is not really a serious question for me if “Triple Six” lives up to the hype, because hell yeah it does! The only thing I find a bit questionable in pretty much all his tracks is the compressing of his sounds. It might be me, but I feel like Curbi’s tracks seem rather flat in comparison to other Spinnin’ artists. In my opinion there is a lot to gain in that department of producing. It would make the track just that little bit more awesome.
Nevertheless, “Triple Six” is the banger we were expecting and hoping for for weeks. The track is a complete banger and gets itself to best advantage on a good sound system. I can’t wait to hear this track blasting in the clubs!
